My Own Classroom!

Hi Boys, Girls, Moms, and Dads!

Last Thursday, I saw my classroom for the first time! I felt like a kid in a candy store! It was so exciting! Today, I'm going back and I will take pictures to post. Is anyone doing summer school at Finley Farms? My classroom is being used for the Scrapbook class, maybe some of you are in it! Summer school ends this week and then I can be in my classroom whenever I want. I could be happier! Hope you are all enjoying these HOT summer days!

GUESS WHAT!

Good morning Family and Friends!

GUESS WHAT!!!!

Since March, I have had a contract with Gilbert Public Schools to teach for the 2008- 2009 school year. After a few interviews at different schools, I just found out where I'm going to be teaching! I'm so excited and wanted to share my great news with all of you!

Are you ready...

Finley Farms Elementary School!!!

2nd Grade! Yahoo!

(It's only half a mile from my house :) )

I had an awesome experience at Ashland Ranch Elementary School student teaching 2nd grade with Kym Di Giulio. I enjoyed being there with all of the excellent staff. I'm thrilled to be teaching second grade! Kym has shared so many incredible ideas and great resources with me! I know I have been prepared by my awesome teachers! Especially, Jen my incredible student teaching supervisor! Thanks for all of your amazing thoughts and ideas!

I'm also very thankful for all your love and support! I couldn't have done it without each of you!

Thank you!!
Lauren Hendrickson

Emails

I still haven't heard back from Finley Farms. Last week, most of the teachers renewal contracts were due. I'm thinking I should know back from Finley Farms this week and from other schools within the next month. Thanks for all your thoughts and concerns. I got an email from Vanessa yesterday. Thank you, Vanessa! It's always great to hear from each of you! If you don't have a blog account you can still leave messages or email me at Laurennlynn@aol.com
Have a fun week!!!

Still waiting...

My interview at Finley Farms went well it was for 2nd or 3rd grade. I was suppose to find out on Monday if I got it. When the principal called, he said the district is telling him he can only hire for one position. It's between myself and one other person. He also said he is going to work with the district this week and see what he can do to keep both of us. I'm suppose to hear from him today (Thursday). Talking to him sounded promising but I'm waiting to see what happens. :) Last night, I went to the teaching store and used part of my gift card from the class. Thank you all so much! I bought class money and some decorations for my classroom. I still have alot left to spend but I'm going to wait until I know exactly what grade! :)

Here are some questions for you:

What goes with Hendrickson? Can you think of an animal or symbol?

What is something you have had in your classrooms that you really enjoyed?

Can you think of somethings every teacher should have?

Thanks for all your help and support!!!
